A Healthier Pepperoni Pizza?

An Alternative to Eating Conventional Pizza


  • Trader Joe’s Brown Rice Tortillas ~ Gluten & Wheat Free
  • Trader Joe’s Pizza Sauce ~ Fat Free in a jar found in the  spaghetti isle or Fresh in their refrigerated cabinet
  • Trader Joe’s Mozzarella Shredded Cheese
  • Turkey Pepperoni
  • Options: Olive Oil, Oregano, Basil/Garlic seasoning


  • Turn your oven to broil
  • Once the oven is hot place the Brown Rice Tortilla directly onto the top rack  to get slightly toasty / crispy. Usually only takes a minute or two depending on their freshness.
  • Pull the tortilla out and place on a cookie sheet
  • Turn your oven down to 350 to 400
  • Add your pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese and turkey pepperoni. Sprinkle with seasoning and drizzle olive oil on top
  • Pop your pizza back into the oven for about 3 to 5 minutes keeping an eye on it and pull it out when it is suitable to your liking
  • Cut into pizza slices and serve warm


  • This basic pizza is enough for 1 person and will cost you less than $2.50 per pizza
  • There are an endless amount of toppings that you can combine for the perfect pizza and with a little experience you will learn how to pile on the ingredients and adjust your time and heat for the heartier pizzas.
  • TJ’s  has a nice selection of fresh chicken and turkey sausages which come in many flavors  so you can try them all.
  • Don’t forget to pick up your fresh vegetables; they are nice way to complement your protein, or go all veggie.
  • Pesto is a  great variation for those of you that cannot tolerate tomato sauce.
